The KZN Department of Public Works and Infrastructure Build KZN Better Contractors Imbizo has gotten underway with a great turnout at the KZN Sharks Board, in Durban. Tholi Cibane from SA Women In Construction applauds the department's efforts to tackle the issue of delayed payments. She has also recognized efforts to empower women through the She Builds Women In Construction body. Cibane calls for women contractors to be prioritised and not just reduced to be participants at sub contractor level.
The Public Works Ministerial Imbizo held on 19 March 2025 in KZN is a significant platform for addressing infrastructure challenges and promoting collaboration towards sustainable development. The event will provide an opportunity for open dialogue and the development of practical solutions for the province's infrastructure needs.

On 13 June 2025 The cidb, in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, is conducting a series of Contractor Development Outreach Roadshows aimed at addressing these challenges and unlocking real, transformative opportunities for emerging contractors across South Africa through skills development masterclasses, access to funding, mentorship, and exposure to infrastructure project opportunities. SAWIC & BE attended and exhibited during the inaugural Contractor Development Outreach Roadshow in KwaZulu-Natal and Many emerging contractors particularly Black-owned, women-led, youth-driven, and disability owned enterprises.
